probably going 2.4 setup
Id think so too. Hopefully he long rods and gets a pretty big turbo, he's about ready for it. After all the modding he did this winter, he didnt even make much more power! He just needs to bring the boost up past 20 ;)

Sometimes it is hard to bring the boost past the low 20's. I may be interested in his block if mine cannot be fixed.

Why would he want long rods? They don't help piston speed and having the piston dwell longer at TDC is exactly what you don't want on a high boost car.

It was a conversation I had with someone and I dont quite understand what they are but i understand the pros from doing it. Dont worry about what im talking about. If someone is interested in his shit, get ahold of him!

Long rods help the rod ratio a decent amount. But they do next to nothing for the main problem with the 2.3/2.4, which is the piston speed. A longer rod causes the piston to dwell longer at TDC, which makes detonation more likely on a forced induction car. It's an old trick that works well on all-motor V8s for a few more HP, but getting more airflow for power is not a problem for a turbo car with a boost controller, staying away from knock and detonation is our main problem. So, is it worth all the trouble and money to goto long rods, not to me. Maybe to other people. I don't know of any pros running long rods. Brent isn't, there is a chance Shep could be but he is on meth anyways, I doubt Buschur would have ever bothered, I doubt Glazer is. Thats all the DSM pros I know of.
