well, my car has very bad road manners and the other night i pushed the wheel with my foot, and noticed the whole rim moves side to side like it can turn like a front wheel.

not very much, but both rears do it, the right more than the left.

i have an appointment set up with an alignment place thursday, anyone have any ideas what it could be?

i had my dad push on the rim and i looked under the car and the control arm doesn't appear to be moving - only the spindle.

no wierd noises while driving, only low speed cornering produces a squeak that i am almost posative is the brake because when i hit the brake in that turn, the noise goes away.

Sounds a lot like my shitty wheel bearing problem. The wheel wobbles when under cornering load and it has gotten so out of shape that when it wobbles the pads touch the disc sporadically.

I am going with CVD on this one. Possibly bad ball joints too. They are A arm in the rear, aren't they?

The wheel bearing went out on my dad's old van and did something very similar to this. The rear wheel could move steer about 10 degrees either way and the wheel looked like it sat about an inch outside of the body compared to the other one. Definately get that looked at.

ok, good, and i think it's getting worse. thanks for those pointers. i just didn't know for sure becuase it only makes a noise when it turnes, and i've heard bearing noise before... i just didn't know.

kinda sucks too because i had new bearings put it this spring. thank god i don't have to hard of a drive each day.

edit: oh yeah, btw, it has A arms out back, but no ball joint.

You had new bearings put in the rear this spring? I wonder if they got installed wrong?

maybe, i didn't do it.

i didn't know they could be installed wrong. time to check if they are different sizes?

i guess the bearings are fine. there is a bolt that goes through the base of the spindle and through two bushings in the A arm and the spindle or bolt has worn down and is loose. so i gotta find new spindles and bolts. damn conquests! :|
