The car in question is a 95 gsx. It has normal fuel, intake and exhaust mods. Well James was driving my car and it drove fine (I was with him). He parked it. The next day I went to start it and it would fire and kill. The car is about to walk so I decided to wait and I disconnected the clutch safety switch.

I tried starting it agian without the clutch and it did the same. I did it once again and tried reving. With the throttle pressed, the car sat there for a second at 1000 and then finally reved up and dropped back down to 300 or so when I let off the gas and killed. Seems like it gained a big boost leak overnight or something. That is problem number one.

Since I had an Eprom ecu and a cable, I decieded I would pull out the SAFC and throw in DSMLink. I popped the covers and the wiring was a mess. The safc was connected with butt connectors not to mention other wiring. I soldered everything back together and get the laptop. I tried hooking it up and it cannot connect. I rechecked all the connections (ecu and laptop --> car) and everything seems fine. Sometimes I hear a clicking noise around the ecu area. I then have to turn the key off. The car cranks and everything like before but I now hear a random clicking sound sometimes.

Any ideas??? In summary, car ran fine and will no longer stay running. Clicking coming from around the ecu. Thanks in advance.

The clicking noise is probably the main relay. Check to make sure the case of it still has a good ground. A lot of people unbolt them and I have seen it cause an issue. A bad Alt. fuse can also cause it to go screwy sometimes.

I don't think it should matter but it is a fwd eprom in an awd. The ecu worked fine when pulled.

Where is the main relay? Under the dash behind the radio?

The alternator fuse is fine. I pulled the console and radio out and it seems as if the noise is coming on the pass side by the glove box. Any other ideas?
