View Full Version : replacing the ignition?
lately in my 1G I can't always get the key to turn, to start the car. Sometimes I have to wiggle and pull it out a little and basically pray while moving it alot to get it to turn so I can start the car. Anyone ever replaced the actual ignition or had this problem? Should I see if a locksmith can help things out? Not sure what the issue is, I'm using the Mitsu-cut key..

I noticed on my 2g that after I used the key in the ignition they would look heavily worn and would no longer open my doors, eventually I got to where neither of my keys would open the doors and sometimes the ignition wouldnt turn and I had the ignition replaced, haven't had a problem since but I just gave up on having a key made for my door locks.

This is John, Carlos. I work at Hance Ace Hardware in Hopkins. We have a locksmith who can fix it for you. He fixed a couple of dsm locks for me. He did them in the car. It cost me nothing but he is pretty reasonable. The store number is 952-938-7367. His cell is 612-298-4692. He can either do it at our location or yours. He is 24/7. The last thing he did for me was fix a drivers door when I didn't have a key that worked. He is pretty skilled.
