Fuel gauge dead?

Well heres the problem on my 92 gsx 5spd. I was installing the walbro hp fuel pump everything went fine. Car started up right after and the car was driving pretty normal. I noticed the fuel was at the very lowest, below the lowest mark, (keep in mind before the install I had a quarter tank of gas left) so I pumped 5 gallons of 92 oct. After that I noticed the gas didn't go up on the fuel gauge. Now its been almost 20 miles and still the fuel gauge hasn't gone up. Anyone ever experienced this?

You probably bent the sending unit. You know the part that acts like an arm on the fuel pump assembly that floats on the fuel in the tank. Or its getting caught on something. Take it back out and either fix the problem or get a different unit and throw the pump into it- it will be hard to fix your current unit because you probably dont know how it looked when it was good.
