So my power steering belt started tearing apart just yesterday for no reason. By the time I got home, there was no power steering when I tried to turn a corner. Bought a new belt this morning and changed it out and now I find that when I step on the clutch, there's a squeaking noise coming from the master cylinder. I went upside down and tried to press the clutch in all the way (impossible for me, it's a 2600 and I'm not all that strong). But from what I could push in I can hear the a squeak coming from where the master cylinder is located. I can hear it better from the engine bay, but it's both inside and out. I dont know if the power steering belt has anything to do with it, but after I changed it, I have that weird noise. I just hope the master cylinder isnt going out...I've had more than enough problems I still have to take care of..haha.

You'll know when the master is going out because there will be no pressure and there will be a visible leak running down the firewall on the inside of the car coming from under the boot. The squeeking is probably just a dry connection. Spray some wd40 on the spring assembly and all other moving joints you can see under there as you move the clutch pedal.

Okay, nvm. The squeaking noise went away....somehow. If nothing is going to break down AGAIN, then I'm okay with not trying to figure out what made the noise...:D

I can't believe I'm going to say this, but, Peter is probably right. Sounds like it's a dry joint somewhere in the pedal assembly. Mine does that from time to time.
