About two weeks ago I put my AHP exhuast on dsmtrader.com, found a buyer who would buy it for 375.00$ without shipping costs. I told him to send me 45.00 for shipping and we'll call it good, but he wanted to make sure that i got enough for shipping, he insisted on sending me 3000$ in a cashiers check. His idea was then for me to send the rest of the money back to him, so about 2500$ He gave me his name, along with a few others and emailed me countless times from different emails. I recieved the check today and it looked as fake as michael jacksons nose, the bank was - Bank of America Agenices in Wisconsin, US Bank and me looked up the bank and found nothing, i still put it into my account but i will not touch i until it clears, which should be in about 2 months :) I already sent a nasty email to the buyer of my exhaust and explained to him that there will be no exhaust or money sent back for at least two months(just in case it clears). What you all think, and have you guys run into similar situations? Seriously, my bank lady laughed because of how stupid the check looked and how it all sounded, she said i was being scammed all the way!

This isn't new, people started the "overpay-cashiers check" thing a while back. I had someone try to buy my car and then have it shipped to another country.

Why did you even respond to the person? It was defenitly a scam. Haven't you heard of them before? It even says on the bottom of the reply you got from the guy on trader that the replies like that are fraud. If I post something up, I tell people to not even bother trying to respond if they are going to say something like that. I was trying to tell them to go f#ck themselves, but there is a filter and you cant do anything like that.

I can't believe you even went for it, let alone deposited the fake check into your account. You know when it bounces, you will be charged as well, right? Even though it's clearly not your fault, the bank will charge like $10 bucks for NSF check.... glad to see you don't mind wasting your time & money...
