Looks interesting... I wouldnt mind buying one if it wasnt so expensive. $475 wouldnt be bad if it had glass in it but they want $400 extra for a good piece of lexan. Now they are saying they have doors in production so I really want to see how much those weigh. When I had my drivers door off I swear the damn thing weighed 100lbs! Anyone else checking these out?

Looks cool. Expensive but a good idea especially for 2G guys that have a hard time shaving weight.

Just did a little more messing around under the sellers name and found this... I think it would be much better cause you can paint it and its only $200. I might have to look into this!

Its true.
It would be so sweet to have all lexan windows and carbon fiber hood/fenders/bumpers/hatch/doors but seriously who has the money?
I couldn't even imagine the weight savings with a setup like that.
And I don't know about fiberglass, I don't think I trust it's strength.

CF anything is cool. I wish I had the gumption to start making CF things...
Its true.

Yeah, because they haven't used it on muscle cars since the 60's, and you see corvette's body panels flying off all the time.

I guess I wasn't specific enough. I'm not saying I don't trust the panels that a large scale business like chevy or ford makes. I'm saying I don't know if I would trust a fiberglass hatch made by some random ebay company. That ad gives absolutely no info about the hatch, who knows maybe its like 2 layer or something.

Supposedly the Squidskins stuff fits like ass.
I wouldn't worry about fiberglass vs carbon fiber strength. The way carbon fiber is used for body panels usually isn't very strong anyways.
