Sounds like a dumb question but i've never had coilovers before until I bought this 99GSX with coilovers already on it. I want to lower the car about .75". To save me some jack time, do i unscrew the threaded coil adjuster towards the ground or in towards the top of the car?
Also, is it generally a 1:1 ratio meaning if you unscrew/screw it say 1", that's the equivalence of raising/lowering it 1"?
Thanks for the help.

Away from car, and yes as far as I know.

If you screw the perch down 1", your car will sit 1" lower.

The ride also get a little softer as you raise the car. I've got a 98 Accord Coupe that's actually liveable now that I raised it .75".

Keep in mind that all depends on the shocks (I'm assuming the Accord has stock shocks still?). My Talon actually rode nicer with AGX's and GroundControl's when it was down ~2" from stock. Then I took it down even further and the ride became not quite as nice.....but I left it low :)

Thanks for the help guys. I might just go 1/2" to maybe 3/4" and see what it looks like. I gotta jack it up again when get another guy over to help me bleed the brakes so i make further adjustments at that time if needed..
Thanks.

Went to lower the rear supspension last night and i noticed the coilover adjuster was down as far as it would go. That sucks! I probably have 1.5" or so between tire and fender lip. I really wanted about .75".
I have Tokico Illumina 5-way gas shocks and Eibach springs. I "THINK" they are the pro-kits. They say 22/99 on them. I don't know what that means. I measured the free uncompressed length of the spring and it was exactly 7"
So if i want to lower it more do i just need to change the spring to a shorter one? I have all kinds of adjustmen room in the front. It's just the back which is odd.
Thanks.

What brand of coilovers are they? You can't have Pro-Kits with coilover adjustments, the springs sit totally different on the perches vs. on the shock. What color(s) are the springs and perches?

I'm not sure what the brand is of the coil over(I just emailed the guy i bought it from to find out). The threaded part is an anodized red. The adjuster part is anodized gold. The Tokico Illuminas are White with red lettering. I'll have to check the spring color at lunch when i go home but they are definately Eibach. Says right on them.
What's a perch?
Thanks.

Based on those colors the coilovers sound like GroundControls to me. The springs should be red with white lettering/numbering. GC coilovers do use linear rate Eibach springs, but they are nowhere near similar to Pro-Kits. Write down the spring part numbers and give GC a call; they can look up the spring and tell how how far the car should be able to go down, and if needed, they can recomend a new spring for you based on your needs.
A perch is the piece that threads up and down that the spring sits on. They have a little locking hex set-screw correct?
