I have a 97 gsx and the freakin dip stick broke and got stuck in the tube. When I tried to get it with a pliers it went in more. Now I can only touch it with a screw driver and I heard there's a way to remove the metal tube housing for the dip stick but I can't get the bracket that holds the tube to come lose. I'll take any suggestions :(

My first suggestion would be to use a magnet. But if that doesnt work there is one bolt holding the bracket that holds the dipstick in. After getting that off then you just pull the dipstick out. Its in there so pull hard. Or hey if you dont want to do that you can always just pull the oil pan off. Just some info I have gathered from my engine swap. Hope it helps.

Yah it wiggles back and forth but it wont come. Just keep on pulling wiggleing back and forth and around.
Use two small flathead screwdrivers and pinch it out. Other than that, the above idea of unbolting the tube and pulling it out will work. I would not suggest dropping the pan as you are awd. You would have to remove the T-case, undue all the bolts (making sure you know which holes they came from as some are shorter), and give the pan hell trying to knock it off (never just fall off).

I finally got it after one huge yank.. but with that yank I cut my finger open along something sharp so in one hand I had the dipstick tube and the other covered with blood lol. So yea I got the damn dipstick. Thanks for all your help and suggestions everyone. This site is legit!
