Dose anyone know if 225/50/16's will fit on a 1st gen?.

Yes they will fit just fine.

I'm running those right now on 16x7" rims. Clearance is perfect.

I hope you aren't planning on squeezing these onto a stock 6" wide wheel.

I've put that size on plenty of stock 16x6 rims. In fact, believe it or not. I have seen 245/50r16's on a 2g with stock rims. So the 225's fit fine. I've even got some pics if you want of some Kuhmo Supra ECSTA 712s on OEM 16x6 90-91 Talon rims.
