Fricken A. I installed the tranny and the clutch and got everything installed and started the car up. The car starts up fine, but it wont go into gear and the clutch pedal is really hard to push in. I have an ACT 2600 Kit and I know it shouldnt be that hard to push the clutch pedal in. I'm so pissed off right now! I spent all this hard work and time to find out it was for nothing. Does anyone know what's wrong with it? I'm too pissed to keep on typing...

I'm too tired to take it back out. I'll see if QPR can take it apart and find the problem for me for a not-so-expensive price. My guess it the flywheel, I still dont think Kath re-resurfaced it CORRECT. Only when it's on is when I can't shift into gear. If its off I can put it into gear. I tried starting it in gear and all it did was jerk and die, so I'm sure the clutch isnt disengaged at all. I've spent 3-4 weeks and over $1500 on this damn project!

QPR, how much do you guys wanna charge me? All I car about now is getting the car fixed and over with. I have about $300 and if needed, I'll bum some money off my parents again (even though they were the one's who spent $1500 on MY car...That's why I love them so much :) )....I gotta find a way to get my car there also for a good price...What a horrible start to my year!

BTW, we have a pretty solid method of testing the flywheel/clutch/pressureplate as an assembly before it is put in the engine/tranny to make sure it engages and releases the disk. If anyone is doing a clutch, it may be worth the time to bring it down and make sure it will work before you go through al the hassle.

Hahaha...I wish I knew that before I did all this stuff. How much do you guys want to charge me to have my problem fixed? I really don't have the time to fix it myself anymore. Good thing I have some crap tranny fluid in it right now...I came by ealier to buy some Red Line Tranny fluid, but no one was there. I guess that was a good thing, heh heh.

*UPDATE* I took my tranny off my car ONCE again. I feel like an expert now, heh heh. I took off the tranny twice before I got to drive it (I hope it's just twice :)) Hmm..Raptor about that thing you were talking about up there. The method of checking to see if the clutch will disengage and engage properly...can I take the assembly in sometime to have it checked...I'll need the flywheel's step checked also, if that's not going to be a problem. I hope to get everything set right and have my car running by mid-next week if possible. Oh yeah, where have you guys been. I called the shop yesterday and today and no answer...went to the shop yesterday and the doors were locked...what's up? Are you guys open after 7:00 tomorrow evening? I'll be working for the next few days, so it'll be hard getting to the shop. Just let me know if it's okay and otherwise I'll just have the flywheel re-re-resurfaced by Bumper-to-Bumper or Napa. I'm in a much better mood right now...that I have the tranny out and can start over and fresh, heh heh... :) Gotta go eat now...I'm starving...

another *update*->I went to Napa and they measure the flywheel at .610 so it's not the flywheel that was causing the clutch to not disengage. This is frustrating me so much right now. Does ANYONE know what might be the problem? I want to get it running by tomorrow and ANY help would be nice....PLEASE!

Look at your pressure plate carefully and make sure that none of the fingers are sprung. I just had a similar problem with my car, turned that the clutch disk exploded and some of it got lodged in the pressure plate where I couldn't see it. Put it all back togethre and it wouldn't shift. Pulled it back out and could tell right away that the pressure plate what fucked. If you have another one lying around that is good put them side by side, sometimes the difference is hard to see.
