Window Tint Issues - adheasive

I had window tint on my Eclipse and took it off a long time ago but never have been abel to see through the rear window very easily. Anyone know what will take the remaining sticky film off without damaging the rear defrost element?

Would windex work? Just put it on and take it off with light pressure.

Other than that, i don't know what to tell you.

Not this stuff is caked on pretty good. I could take a scrapper to it but I have rear defrost to worry about. I have stuff like paint thinner, carb cleaner, and a few other bottles of shit at home not so potent but I don't want to try just anything.

I would say some Go Gone or some rubbing alcohol would work without hurting anything.

The best is 3M 08984 General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner. Costs about $10 per can. Either wipe on or aerosol.

Soapy water and an aluminum razor blade is the best way to take off the adhesive on the side windows.The soapy water will lubricate the blade, and make sure its an aluminum blade, otherwise it will scratch the glass.On the rear window, use soapy water with medium fine steel wool, finer will not take off the adhesive, and courser will wreck the defroster lines.Having worked tinting window for many years, this is the fastest, easiest, and safest way to do it

Oh yeah, if you have issues on the back window, spray a little ammonia on it and let it sit for a while.Or you can let the sun heat up the back window for a while
