View Full Version : Dan (aka DNeinstadt) from TC Stangs has some hard times right now
I thought I would post this up here to see if anyone is able to do anything else to help them out. I haven't met Dan yet but I know alot of you on here have. He seems to have lost quite a bit during a fire. Many things that you and I would lose as well. Here are a few links on what happened:

Yeah, saw all the photos of the aftermath and read his story, thankfully him and Michelle are OK. Sounds like from friends they are handling it pretty well all things considered. scary stuff
Be careful with aircraft paint remover, in fact anyone who has a garage should go through and clean up and make sure they are storing flamables properly.

Wow, that's so scary... thank goodness they even made it out. :( I can't imagine what they are even going through..

Cars are cars, I hope everyone is able to see this is life we are talking about now (from what I've read so far on the 3 threads it sure looks like people do, thumbs-up for humanity).

Yea that is bad news but amazing how fast it overtook the house. I cant see the pictures... probably because Im not a member.
What I dont understand is how a bad thrown in the garbage can self combust... there had to have been something else that started on fire and that stuff only helped... Or a rag was missplaced and the fumes combusted from electricity?
Anyway, it is a huge loss but Im glad they have insurance for everything and that they made it out safely.

He was using aircraft stripper on his valve covers, and the valve covers were in a plastic bag that he had thrown away. It's assumed that there was some stripper that came in contact with that bag, one thing led to another and the plastic combusted in the garbage can in the garage.
Dan is genuinely for the success of the local automotive community. Aside from his role with Mods and Rods you will always see him around Midway and hanging out with the Mustang guys. He is the ONLY non-sport compact domestic owner who regularly comes to Minnesota Sport Compact meets in the summer. Great guy to talk to, it just sucks that something like this had to happen to him.

Unbelieveable. I had the opportunity to meet Dan & Michelle last summer and can say that are both awesome people. I don't know how often Barton has been keeping up on here, but if anyone has his contact information it may be worthwhile to pass on this news to him. I believe him and Dan were pretty good friends.
