I am trying to figure out what this guy has in his car. It is a chipped EPROM. I removed the cover and it says: Mitsubishi Performance Specialists STG3
So far all I now is that it has a shift light set a 7k and selectable gauges. Now I know it should have a studderbox, but I hooked up the clutch switch wire and nothing. I have even tried it the TMO method by pressing in the clutch and tapping the pedal. But there is still no studderbox. Also, is there anyway to figure out what it is set for in terms of MAF/Injectors size, etc. It was installed by Excessive in Sioux Falls, but do to recent events....we are not exactly on good terms. And i'm not sure if they will remember anyways. Reciepts don't show anything about it either.
Maybe I should just buy a chips from www.dsmchips.com and that way i'll know what he has.

Is it Mitsubishi Specialities? If so I believe thats the company who bought the rights to TMO chips.IIRC they don't do MAF or INJ comp, only stutter, gauges, and fuel cut, etc.

Did you use diodes on the clutch wire?
BTW I can do anything Keydiver can, and I'm much cheaper.

This is good info for me, i'll be looking to buy a chip in the next couple of months.

Im pretty sure mspec isn't the company that purchased the rites to the tmo stuff.

The owner claims he did.A year or two back I was selling Eprom ECUs with custom chips on EBAY.Mitsubishi Specialities filed a claim to EBAY claiming they owned the rights to the TMO code.Anyway EBAY banned me from selling chips, IIRC this same place/guy did the same to keydiver making him unable to sell chips on EBAY as well.
I went way out of my way to make my eproms different from everyone elses, and this fucker still did this shit.It was an attempt to eliminate his competition, and perjury.

I'm pretty sure you are right with that one. I remember looking around a few years ago and seeing a lot from DSM Specialties, and using direct reference to the TMO code.

No I didn't use a diode in the clutch wire, but the diode is only to prevent you from starting the car without the clutch engaged.
But I am just going to get a new chip burned that way I know what we have from the start. Because as of right now, I don't know what it is set for (MAF, injectors, etc.) Not a good place to start IMO.

Not true at all.Without the diodes(two), the clutch input to the ECU will not work. You either have to eliminate the starter circuit from the clutch switch, or use diodes to isolate the starter circuit from the clutch input into the ECU.
