That couldn't have ended well for the airborne guy.

I wish Indy car races wouldn't have go so far down hill in terms of popularity. I always enjoyed watching Michael Andretti, Adrian Fernandez, etc. back in the day. If I remember right it was when the IRL split up that the Indy Car popularity really started to drop off if I rememeber correctly?

Blame Tony George for that, but look at it today... CART went bankrupt, and now the Champ Car Racing league is nearly defunct. IRL is gaining steam, and there are rumors of the two rejoining. IRL has 2 or 3 road courses on their schedule this year as well, a first since its creation.

Cart rocks, IRL is gay. Back in the day Cart made 1000hp and could do 257mph on an oval track. But when the champ cars split it killed everything. I dont think they will get back together. To many rednecks like watching oval track racing as it is, and its all about Tv coverage. If you want real open wheel racing Formula 1 is the only way to go now days.
