For the most part, all k-type thermocouples are pretty much identical.They must be made from the same material(chromel/alumel) for the Seebeck effect to take place(to act as a thermocouple).They all have an either SS or Inconel sheath, and all have ss braided wire made from chromel/alumel as well.So I wouldn't put so much thought into it.
