I have a TRE probe, and it's works great.

Here's the probe Raptor was talking about.
First of all, it has a 90 deg bend, not straight like the TRE.Not sure if anyone cares about that, but I like the bend much better. Its the fast acting exposed junction like the TRE.Sheath is inconel, NPT fitting is 316 SS.It also has 7 feet of stainless braided k-type wire attached, with heat shring tubing on the end.Overall quality is top notch

Is that an Omega probe? Price?

I don't believe so, I'm not familiar with Omega, but it's made by a company called Temperature Systems International.Price should be right around, if not cheaper, than TRE's price.

Looking at the Omega site, their probe appears to be identical to the TRE one.

I have the GReddy EGT gauge and probe. Work great for me. I think I read somewhere (can't remember where, suffering from Raptorzheimers) about those exposed tip breaking off and taking out the turbine blades on the way out.

The GReddy probe reacts as quickly as TRE's, but its life is much shorter on average.

Hum, been using the same one for 3 years now, minus one year for waiting for an engine. Still works great. To each his own.

Well Shane ordered the Stewart Warner gauge for me but I am quite honestly stumped on which probe to order.
TRE: Well known & proven
Omega: Company appears to be well know & proven, Can custom spec a probe
Greddy: Well known & proven
QPR: Local, Know very little about the probe
SW: Can not find any information in either direction, The only thing I see beneficial about a Stewart Warner probe would be the commonality of manufacturer between the gauge and the probe if troubleshooting any problems ever arises

When it comes down to it, the decision will hardly matter at all. I'd either order a QPR or TRE.
