Is there a certain brand I should be looking at? I found some on ebay but you can't trust that crap...only $25 for 25hp. Are performance chips even the way to go?

only 'chip' I would recommend is to tune with an eprom ecu.

find out if you have an eprom ecu, and lightninggsx on here can burn chips for you.

There are a few on the board that can burn chips for you, I wouldn't trust anyone but Eric to do the socket however. Stay off ebay, no good can come of it.
