View Full Version : Making a CD - I want to break up a track
I'm using Nero to make a CD. The problem is I only have one track that's 79 minutes long. I want to break this one track into individual songs so it's easier to skip through it when I'm playing it. Is there a way to do this with Nero, or should I be using something else to do it? If I can I'd like to use Nero because that's what I have on my comp, and don't want to go out and get something else if I don't have to.

You need an audio editor. Most likely you'll have to convert it to WAV, chop it up, then convert the files back to MP3 (if you really want to).

You could just download pro tools free (win98/OS9), cool edit pro, ect. But 79min might be to long for trial versions.

Mark, can I ask what song is 79 minutes long or am I missing something here?
CRAIG
Actually it's an entire album on one track. I just wanted to cut it up into the different songs. I was palying around with Nero last night, and I found a track editor, so I think I can use that. I'll just have to cut and paste into a new file. If that doesn't work then I'll try the pro tools.
Thanks

Nero does in fact have a feature that lets you do it. Click on the track and at the bottom it will say something like "splits, limits etc" Thats where you split long tracks.
