Well after getting fired from pretty good paying(but very unstable) job I sat down and realized I needed to get my ass in gear and go to school.

April 11th I start a bachelors course in Game Design and Development at Brown in Mendota Heights. It's a three year straight course with no big breaks(besides the normal weeks for holidays/spring). Already got my schedule, get my books and laptop this Saturday at orientation. Class schedule is pretty good so I get to maintain full time hours at my new job. Luckily I have good enough credit to get approved on my own for all my student loans, feels good to not have to bother my family members for a cosigner. And since I did well enough on my placement exams I will be getting some grant money from Brown, along with tuition assistance from my employer. I was so concerned about money being an issue, and it looks like it won't.

I am really excited as I am kind of a computer nerd and love video games. I hope I will be able to find a position after I graduate as the field starts around 45K, not the real uber big bucks but enough to support my family and DSM addiction. And the established designers are making at least 80K, then imagine all the broken DSM's I could own! :)

Awesome Matt!!! I just finished my first week with DeVry this weekend. I already had 12 credits through DeVry right out of high school but that was mostly general. I also have approx 3 years straigh through to go through and I was approved with enough fin aid to pay for it all. I take 2 classes a semester. 1 the first 8 weeks and 1 the second 8 weeks. I am in the Business Management Administration program with a major in Accounting.

Great to hear Matt! A buddy of mine is up at Brown in the same major. He started in October I believe.
