Wow, thanks for all the info everyone! You are all a huge help! I will keep you all in the loop =) Ya never know!!! I have already thought about the money situation. My parents are pretty wealthy and they said they would help me get started. I don't usually ask them for much but they like to help as much as possible. Mom and Dad rock!

Money can only get you so far though. There is a rally driver that has alot of money to throw around and he's put most of it into his car because he doesn't have the talent to drive it. Or else he is just too cocky and got in over his head with a powerful car. Probably both.

Like I stated earlier, I'm not saying you are a bad driver. I just don't want you to think that money will solve all the problems of getting into racing. The talent still needs to be there. And most of the time that comes from seat time. So that is why I said to get out to as many autocrosses as you can this summer.

If you want to race, pick your series. Build your own car/crew/race team, and pray that you are good enough to get in to the events. Then keep praying that you finish well enough to get sponsors. If you think you will ever see a net financial gain racing cars, you should really consider driving to Super America and buying some PowerBall tickets.

However, if you DONT think you will ever make any money doing it, wonderful. Go have a blast racing in the SCCA or whatever.
