That is crazy. Capital punishment is possible for having sex outside of marriage. Iran should be next on our list of fixings.

I didn't read the article... but what you are not taking into account is that it is a religious rule... Not doing a sermon(sp?) here but... A lot of the middle eastern countries are run on Islamic(Muslim) rule/law... Its against their religion to commit adultry(same with Christianity and Judaism)... So there are consequences... I would not normally reply to a post like this, but ignorance sometimes needs to be corrected... Not to mention, not letting people have sex before/outside of marriage is hardly a reason to invade countries:)
I agree. If this ever became a case where we would invade along these lines we would be just using our power and saying very directly "what we don't like we try and change".
I don't have to agree with the way things are over there but then again I don't have to disagree either cause I am not in touch with how things have been done for generations there.

I don't agree with the death penalty, but good on the government for giving out some penalties to those that break the laws (holy or national). It's called "nipping it in the bud". I would say that adultery could easily turn into murder. Just look at the Scott Peterson case. Take care of the problem before it becomes one. Obviously it shouldn't be as harsh as death for adultery. But if there was some sort of a punishment administered for such acts, there would definately be less of it happening.

I was kidding about invading.... just dont understand a death penalty for that type of thing. I know there are religous "rules" but then look at the other things they do for their "religion," like suicide bombings and the like.

You are correct on the suicide bombing thought... It's not right... Hands down... But thats a whole different tipic.

I would never say we are right to go and adjust any other countries religious ideas. The suicide bombing obviously as mentioned is an exception as is other forms of terrorism. They may claim it is done for religious reasons, but in reality the religions they claim to represent denounce their actions as well. I don't believe in sex outside of marriage either, but most religion has it's own penalties for disobedience in this life and the next so the government is not needed to try and control it.
