View Full Version : Remove the divider on the manifold exhaust outlet?
Raptor

The divider is in the exhaust manifold, that is the part we are talking about. Nothing to do with the turbo specifically. The only divider in the turbo would be on the O2 side which isn't what this particular topic is about. The seats for the fire ring in either manifold or turbo are not part of the discussion in this thread either as of yet. Hopefully that ends some of the confusion.

Thanks to all for the overwhelming responses on this topic. I 'have' left the divider there. I just don't see how anyone could think of removing it as a performance gain. If you look into the runners from the heads perspective, a removed divider would have exhaust streams colliding with one another. So last night and this morning all i did was enlarge the hole itself to match the PTE 7cm inlet.
I was gonna enlarge the runners slightly based on a vfaq pictorial but i don't think i'm gonna bother with it. If you hold the gasket up to it, you'd have to remove a ton of material to equal the size of the gasket. I don't think it's a benefit, not for a 50 trim turbo. Some say a 50trim won't outflow the capicity of a 2g head anyway. Heck, Brian(Slowwhite), runs a much bigger turbo that i got on his 2g stock head.
