Hello, I am currently rebuilding my (AWD) transmission and was wondering, for those who do the same, where they buy their transmission parts from. Obviously, I can get most of the stuff directly from Satan, but, alternative vendors would be nice. In addition, I am looking for a few custom parts (specifically stronger rails) TRE doesn’t seem willing to sell their parts to me any more. So, if anybody has a favorite place to get their tranny parts from, I would be happy to hear.

Thanks

why would tre NOT want to make money off of you? Turbotrix/BM tranny sell stuff too

Shep?

Why won't TRE sell you anything? They have parts listed for sale.

I believe TRE discontinued selling parts outright.

Quite correct... as indicated by the scrolling marquee on their homepage.

I might shoot Shep an email, although I always thought he was more into the rebuilding aspect then parts vending? Anybody ever able to purchase some of his parts outright?

Good thread. I was planning on rebuilding my awd tranny also. It'll be my first time ever, so I'll take a few tries..haha. We might as well rebuild it ourselves if we're going to keep our dsms any longer. How much does it normally cost..like to replace the main parts? Price range would be good also. (Sorry if I seem like I'm trying to take over this thread...just tell me to make my own if you think I'm taking over...)

^You already made a thread about it and you asked if a screwdriver and hammer were all you needed. Then we told you to not touch the hood release :)

I know I did, but no one told me how much it'll cost..so I make another attempt here. But I found out some prices. Shep racing charges about $900 for their rebuild and thats for a FULL rebuild, I think. Should be a little cheaper if I do it myself. (maybe....)

it'll be more expensive though after you fuck it up and end up sending it to someone that knows what they're doing :)
