Yeah, my cuzin and I was just talking about the turbo timer and we got into a little confusing conversation. Well, you guys know those electronic devices where you can start your car up with out putting the key in or when you're l within a distance, you can start up the car keyless?? well, wouldnt this electronic device be similiar to the turbo timer, because, correct me if im off a little bit, but doesnt the turbo timer just get the turbo ready for a drive? and that electronic device, my uncle has it in his 96 Accord, and it seems pretty cool. All you do is press a button, and the engine starts! cool, but please correct me if i'm out of the world wrong. thanks!

The turbo timer is sorta the opposite, when you take your key out when you are done driving it keeps the engine running for a few minutes to keep coolant and oil flowing to cool down the turbo. It doesn't affect startup.

Turbo timers are nothing more than a "safety" device that allow your turbo to cool down after driving without you having to be in your car. If you drive hard and then just turn your car off without letting it cool down the oil in the turbo will basically boil and bake, significantly reducing the life of the turbo.

Most remote starts do have a function similar to a turbo timer though.
