As the title states, has anyone here wired a 2G mas in their 1G/Galant VR-4? I looked on the vfaq and I am still not really comfortable cutting up wires and soldering them up. Was it really that easy and if there are any tips for someone who has never done it before? I ask this because I have done a decent amount to the engine and I think with proper fuel tuning that my car can run more to its potential. Reading from other VR4 owners, if not going for insane horsepower, going with a 2G mas, 550 injectors, fuel pump, and chip along w/other mods (turbo, exhaust,etc...) will enable to car to run more smoothly.
Here is what I have so far (By the way, I have a 91 Galant VR4 hence the VR4 by my signame)
-Rebuilt motor w/new bearings, new gaskets from the block up, ross pistons 8:5:1, eagle rods, 3 angle valve job, milled the head, hot tanked both the block and head...
-ported small 16G
-mildly ported evo III manifold
-2.5" turbo back exhaust
-ACT 2100 w/13lb flywheel
-MBC @ 14psi
-550 fic injectors
-JDM FMIC (from an 89 Galant vr4)
-I have a 255 walbro, but I'm waiting on ordering an AFPR and a 2G MAS and chip...
Hopefully if all thing turn out alright, the Galant could go to low 13s on pump 93 octane or maybe even high 12s. Who knows...
