In the 92 AWD laser, I've noticed a couple problems.

#1 - Steering wheel is NOT lined up straight while going straight
#2 - Brief "clunk" sound while turning from time to time.
#3 - Randomly pulls ( could be ice patches though)
#4 - Slightly rough ride mainly from 35 - 50 ; bouncy

I knew the car needed an alignment. However, as time has gone with driving the car, I've noticed evidence that this car has been in multiple ( 2 or more) front driver side accidents. What parts am I looking at having to replace. I suspect the ti rod or ball joint or maybe both. I am very much a newb with suspension. Any help given would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

*129k miles
*6/4 rear LSD
*AWD turbo
*Front drive axles recently replaced
*No real modifications, completely stock suspension

Sterring wheel can happen alot of ways. Not really that big a deal unless it really bug the shit out of you. For the vibration form 30-50 that could also just be your tires needing to be balanced up. I'd to the alighment, balance, and go from there.

I know my car had issues where it pulls randomly, and wher it would clunk a bit when turning. It turned out that it was the ball joint on mine (or maybe it was the CV joint), anyways is on of the joints on the front axel (at least it was in my case :))

Go get an alignment and tire balance, and if your tie-rods or ball-joints are worn the shop will be more than happy to point that out to you. Most shops including straightening the steering wheel in their alignment jobs.

I really do not like giving people my car. Is there any repair shops that have the right equipment that will likely do the damn thing right on my car? Does anyone respectable on here work at a repair shop? I need to get meh some quotes.

Is there any respectable shops that you would recommend to trust with my car? Does anyone aboard here work at a repair shop? Id go to QPR but they dont have an alignment rack ;( Also, is there anyway to bring my warrantee down on this shaft? The front drive shafts are new and they came with a warantee.

Twin city tire in Bloomington did a good job on my car and they have a nice big veiwing window, so you can watch your baby get inspected hehe.

Alignments are about 100 bucks though. Balancing is I think around 30.

The brief clunk could be a strut mount, or a sway bar link being at the end of its service life. My 2g clunked because the actual sway bar mounts (chassis) went bad. A alignment will fix your steering wheel (toe settings affect your steering wheel) The random pulling could be your caster settings which an alignment shop should be able to adjust or it could be your car just following the road crown.

Depending where you are I would really recommend South St. Paul Bee Line in Inver Grove Heights(right behind the Kind of Diamonds). They have done very good work on many vehicles for me and for cheap. Duane(the owner) is a very stand up guy who backs everything he does. He has worked on my horseshit supsenion many times and is very professional about it. It looks like a hole in the wall shop but don't let the looks get you down. Give Duane a call at 651-455-8112.

Twin City Tire in bloomington know their shit. Ray ( if he still works there ) was the top name I used to hear tossed around a year or 2 ago.
