Subscribing problem with threads

I have subscribed to the forums I like to track, but the site is not sending email notifications out of new post unless I respond to it. I would think that once you are subscribed to a forum, any new threads or post should send out a noification. Any idea?

It's only set up to threads you reply to. I will see if there is an options to chaneg that.
