Right now I believe my car is starting to crankwalk. So I was just looking for an easy way to go about fixing it. What do you think about this engine?

Thanks,

I think I love it when complete motors are stood up on their oil pans. :p

And the name KarKing is kinda hokey. :D It reminds me of the stupid-named place that my roomate bought a his car at... Car Jack Auto.

If you're going to do a complete motor swap, you may want to spend an extra couple bucks on a basic rebuilt 6-bolt from a reputable DSM shop. If it has been built or gone through correctly I don't think it would be a horrible deal but who knows what was used or how it was built. If you go this route, you may want to ask a ton of questions about the internals and other components such as: if the crank was reground, what parts were used (mitsu or non-mitsu bearings, pistons etc.), if the silent shafts have been eliminated(and if so, how it was done) etc. This way you have a good idea of what you are getting and if they knew what they were doing. You don't want to end up with a big $1150 pile of metal in your car that now has to be taken back out because KarKing didn't have a clue what they were doing.

Did you measure the crank endplay or are you guessing?

I am guessing. I looked up what some signs of crankwalk are and i think i have some.
When the car is running and if you listen you can hear something scraping. My friend came over and said that that is the crank scraping against the sensor or somthing like that. How do you measure the endplay? Can I do it?

I really like the circular scrape on the ground where they turned the engine for a better pic

That's just a chalk line where the last motor they had in their hands lost its life.

Ghetto endplay chek...
If it's real bad you should be able to move the crank pulley back and forth with some LIGHT prying between the pulley and timing cover. If you can move it back and forth and your crank pulley isn't seperating you probably are crankwalked.

Does your clutch pedal ever stick to the floor?

Wow, I didn't notice that before. Looks like drain plug scrapings to me.

If you want to bring it down to the shop I can check it for you so you know for sure. You can have the pulley move in and out a little and still be in spec so it is worth it to measure it with a dial indicator. Call the shop if you are interested.

It looks like a good deal but I would not buy it. I would rather throw in a used 6 bolt for cheaper.
