i just received my autometer MECHANICAL oil pressure gauge and was wondering if anyone knows which oil line is best to tap.....
ps - my car is a 1990 eagle talon tsi

Look on the VFAQ for a picture, it should be the bottom plug on the oil filter housing where the stock sender is. BTW, I hope you're not running that gauge inside the cockpit. A leak would really suck. Most of us clowns run an electric oil pressure gauge.

so going with an electric oil pressure gauge might be a better choice? i was told a mechanical was the way to go... which one is more precise or should i say more reliable?

Mechanical ones are not usually mounted inside the car. You see mechanical gauges mounted on the hoods of Mustangs and such. If a mechanical gauge were to get a leak in the A-pillar, the possiblity of burning hot pressurized oil spraying on your face wouldn't be all thaty nice.

okay thanks for your replys.. looks like i'll juss turn around and sell my mechanical gauge for an electronic one :D.......
