View Full Version : 353 crashes, couple injured, and 1 dead
Due to the road conditions today. I had to head into DeVry for some more paperwork and it took me about 2 hours to get in. Traffic sucked! It wouldn't have been so bad for me if some jackass hadn't left their car in 1 of the 2 lanes available on 494 just south of 394 blocking it down to 1 lane.
My day was uneventfull otherwise. Anyone have some fun in this shit today in the cities?

It took me over an hour and a half to get from Lexington Ave. in St. Paul to work near Hwy. 55 and 100 in Golden Valley. A guy that Jim and I work with drove for over 3 hours to get from Oakdale to work. Pretty crazy.

I had no idea how bad the roads were untill this guy in front of me put on his turn signal, so I started to break and the rear tires just broke lose and the car pretty much went side ways. I recoverd but I'm lucky the was no one next to me, I would of hit 'em for sure. It took me forever to get downtown, then walking for blocks on glare ice wasn't fun either. But since everyone was late/no show I just sat around and watched gladiator on the new 40" plasma, oh yeah.

My friend's sister did a 360 while taking her daughter to the hospital. Two people also spun out in front of me.

I left my house at 7:45am to goto an appointment. I arrived at 9:30am (45 min. late). In that time, I got stuck at a stoplight spinning my rear tires on pure Ice that the roads were (good job overnight salt crews). By the way, the drive was only 20 miles of a drive. Then I almost spun out getting off an on ramp twice just when I thought there was enough salt on the roads. Man, I need another awd car OR I need to move soon.
It took me 20 minutes instead of the usual 15 to get to work yesterday. Plus I had to spend 5 minutes cleaning ice off my windshield. So I was 10 minutes late.

353 crashes!?!?!
Why does it take a storm and crashes every year to remind people to slow the fuck down?
It took me 2 1/2 hours to get into work yesterday, which normally is about 45-1 hour.
I'm not sure how you can complain about the overnight road crew, the ice didn't start until after 6:30 a.m. and they were out doing the best they could. I probably saw 10 trucks on the way into work. But when it's coming down as freezing rain, it's hard for them to stay ahead of the game.

Well they knew it was coming in my area. They had trucks out on Friday salting up the roads; but obviously that wasn't enough. They shoulda been out on Sunday night also, but meh.
