Would it work to buy a 1G maft and put it on my 2G. I found a good deal on one and just wondering if its possible. I know that the plugs are different but is that the only thing? Any help would be great.
Thanks,
Mike
It will also be calibrated differently. If you have a SAFC/dsm link you should be able to tune it out. If you don't, I would just go with a 2g one.

There is actually a dipswitch setting on the MAFT to make them for a 1G or a 2G. And obviously the plug is going to be different. Other than that they are exactly alike. So go to or call ramchargers and ask them how you make it compatible before you buy it.

The settings should be:
aux switch = 0, base switch = 2 = 1g stock airflow signal.
aux switch = 4, base switch = 2 = 2g stock airflow signal.

I have a 2G maf-t in my 1g, and it works dandy. Depending on the version, you can tune it pretty well even w/o an s-afc, but I'd recommend getting it to at least start/idle drive with the maf-t and then fine-tune with the s-afc.
btw, the plugs are different for the 1g/2g version, so you'll have to either get and adapter, or get a plug from a 1g and wire it into your harness. I bought a 2g plug and wired it into my 1g harness, and basically zero'd everything out on the maf-t. it was calibrated for a 2g, and I had just installed 650cc injectors, so it actually started just fine!
Also, if you splice the 1g harness into your 2g one, be sure to do a good job--solder it and seal it all nice-like.
