Hey right now after doing my rail and AFPR I am noticing the smell of fuel in the car, but I do not see any leaks in the engine bay around the stuff I just put in, I also do not smell it in the engine bay..

I pulled my backseat and I noticed that the white ring was only finger tight from when I installed my 255 a few months ago.

Could it be this is causing the smell in the car, while I was driving I tried to air out the car by opening the sunroof to vent but this seemed to make it noticeably worse. This may be really far off but, does opening the sunroof lower the airpressure in the car? If it does, could it be that when I do that, the pressure difference between the car and tank increases and more fumes are pulled in with the pressures trying to equal out? Of course this would only be if is actually the pump thing in the trunk that is causing the smell, I will double check my feed and return lines and make sure to tighten the white ring up and I will see if it gets better or worse on the way back from work after it sits for while.

When you open your sunroof its sucking air from the car out, which in turn sucks air from places in the car that are not air tight, thats why the smell got worse. If I were to guess I would say its something to do with the fuel pump. The reason being is when you open the sunroof its making the air from the back of the car come up front. I would check your fuel pump/return lines ect.

Could it be the white ring not being tight enough? It took me tapping it with a hammer and screwdriver around 3 times or so to get it finger tight, I never retightened it that much afterwards.

It could be, if there is even a slight leak (which may not be noticable to the eye) it will make the car smell like gas. And if it isn't leaking from the engine bay you will notice it more when you roll a window down. I wouldn't rule out a leaky gas tank either. It could be a lot of things.

Tightning the white ring solved the problem.
