Does anybody know if the T3 housing to manifold flange is in the same positiion as the Mitsu 7cm housing to manifold flange on the turbos? I have somebody who makes a tubular manifold for the 2g with the Mitsu flange in the stock location and said it would not be a problem to make it with the t3 flange. My concern is if the two different housings will keep the turbo in the same location or will be moved in any direction from stock?

Im not following you, the angle of attack should beable to be changed if the housing can be clocked...

I'm not so worried about being able to "clock" it, but I am wondering if the turbo would mount up physically in the same location? Or would be off in any direction as compared to the t3/Mitsu hybrid due to differences in the two different exhaust housings?

I guess I wasn't clear on what I was asking, sorry.

Im still not following you. I think they would mount in the same location, stuff like oil lines/coolant lines, o2 housing, and intake/ ic piping can be changed around.

OK, I don't have a t3 and a hybrid side by side to compare housing offsets between the two. All I want to know is if the t3 exhaust housing vs. the Mitsu housing will keep the same shaft center line location and fit.

I want to know if the t3 exhaust housing would bring the turbo closer to the block, farther away from the block, more to the driver's side, more to the passenger side, up or down as compared to a Mitsu exhaust housing?

I don't know how else to ask the question.

There are different versions of T3 exhaust housings: 5-bolt, 4-bolt, PTEs castings, etc. The A/R can make a difference too as to if it's going to hit the block or not.

Yeah what he said.
Viscious-Thats what I thought u were saying, and I was trying to figure out a way to say what ecoli just said.
what are the specs on the 'future' turbo versus the 'current' one?

what are the specs on the 'future' turbo versus the 'current' one?GT35R or FP3565 or FP3575 or something along those lines. :)

AMS has a GT35R with a custom t3 housing that supposedly spools like a .63 and flows like a .82. Hadn't figured that one out yet. :p But everything I've read and heard about it, it's the real deal and is what some people are recommending. May be a little small though.

Eric Gaudi of AMS told me on a 2.3 he made 580 whp at 26 lbs of boost with their GT35R.

8-) Hmmm, too many ideas.

People said the same things about the old 5-bolt T3 exhaust housing compared to the the newer 4-bolt style T3 exhaust housings and PTEs 5-bolt exhaust housings that are designed off of the 4-bolts.
