View Full Version : 56k? Does anyone else still actually use this shit?
I'd PM you but you PMs are not turned on. Go to your cp user panel and activate them.

I just recently got High-speed cable since dial-up was the only choice besides satellite (which is $$$) and I lived in IGH, now I live in a different part so I can get Cable.

I could never go back to dial up. Cable is just to nice, I remember when I had dial up. You could sit online for an hour do minor things. Now with cable, I can be done in like 15 - 20 minutes doing the same thing. I dont have the patients to sit there and wait for a page to load.

I never even had 56k. Went from 28.8k to ISDN somewhere around 1995 and then on to DSL a when that was offered in my area. I did have a 300bps modem back in the 80s, being able to read faster than it could transmit plain text was fun.

I'm at my in-laws in Duluth and they not only have 56K, they have AOL as their ISP. AOL sucks, I can't even get on NABR with this crap.
