How do you bolt your motor to and engine stand?

Never done it before, never even looked at how it goes together.

Let me know... Also where is a good place to pick one up?

Any northern tool has them pretty cheap. 40 or 50 bucks. They bolt up to the tranny side fo the block. You will see 2 bolt holes about 6 - 8 inches apart near the deck and then the other 2 bolts go into 2 bolt holes down by the oil pan about a foot apart.

Old main bolts work well for mounting them, and are easier than finding the correct length as you can see in the picture on the bottom with all the NUTS. I ended up making a few custom bolts here and there for the rediculous number of engine stands we have around now.

You use your own bolts I take it then?

If so is there anyone specifically that you use.. As those look really long?

Or do you have to go out and get longer ones?

I use some really long ones of the correct thread. Just take your tranny bolt with you to a hardware store (ace or hardware hank as they have bolts or fastenall). I use three nuts (large enough the bolt slides through) between the block and the stand to give myself so more room to work on the rear seal and not have that nuckle busting square plate so close. I have several sets of these bolts as I would often have two motors on the stands to make swaping accesories and motor swaps go quicker. You can have a set if you want.

I'd love to have a set..... but not sure how far you are and if it would cost more in Gas then it would to just go to the hardware store...

What about Strenth of the bolts? should I worry about what Grade Bolt I get?

If you're going to be by QPR anytime soon I can pick them up there. unless you're closer to Burnsville?

No I am out in champlin and the bolts are with the car in buffalo. Don't worry about grade. Your not working them hard engough to worry about it. So it might be cheaper and easier to get them close. You'll be out ~7-8 tops. Gas probably more.

We have a bunch of old main bolts that work fine. Brian just has to remember them next time he is here :)
