I agree with Enes and CVD...not to mention Enes has more real life experience in combat situations than any one of us with maybe the exception of ME612.

Yea I agree also that they were not using cover or really caring about if they got hit or not. The guy loading the clip while standing up... thats just not too good.
But yea Im not sure how they can even see who they are firing at if they never come out. Unless they did before the vid was taken. I never saw one person on the vid fire back. Only that one shot where the dude got hit by something on his face (chrapnal?).

Once again it's called suppressive fire. While that squad was lighting up a target, there most likely was another squad repositioning on the very same target.

We us M16A2's. And again, yes it's not the smartest thing to be doing. But to sit and critique a video, and to actually be there in the mix are totally different. Here you're sittin in you nice chair, watching it, looking for something wrong. Them, well they are hot, tired, hungry, bruised, thinkin about their wife they haven't seen in 6 months, thirsty. Under those conditions, you don't function perfectly. They are doing the best they can, and I think they're doing a great job. All my best friends from Yuma are there right now, and the last thing you'll hear me saying is how they should be doing their job, and how I could do it so much better. I'm sitting in my nice A/C room and going out to clubs on the weekends, and they are the ones there right now trying their best to do the job they were sent there to do.
The thing that guy was looking into was infrared optics. It is very similar to the one used in the Bradley fighting vehicle. My drill sergent was in a bradley and he said he could pick out a guy at over 1/2 mile away.
Almost all of the military now uses the M4. Too bad nobody chucked a grenade. I would like you guys to see what they really look like when they go off, not the little explosions that hollywood puts out.
I agree, they were not using proper military tactics by not being under cover. They weren't really under any direct fire though, so they must have thought their risk was minimal. It looked like they were just cleaning up stragglers to me.
