The block is shot in my 92 talon. I would like to get the car running but do not really have the time or money for it. I have pretty much everything done to my car without a built engine. Ofcourse that was the weakest link... I am going to need a lot of money for college next year. I plan on getting rid of my car by next spring anyhow. If it were you, would you part it out or would you fix it? I am not in any kind of situation where I can justify the costs of a built motor. It would cost me ~$4-$500 to get the car up and running and it would sit all winter. I would need to find a spot to store it so I didn't hear about it all winter from my parents. I am not sure that I have the patience with this car to pull the motor. I have had nothing but problems. LMK what you think.

Is this the one that you just picked up?
I'd say drive the one you just picked up the whole winter, store your good car for the winter...

then in the spring swap the engines.. and part out the 1g brick..

If your going to sell it anyway, you would probably make more money off it if you part it all out and sell everything seperately. You can't sell a modded car for what you have into it usually because its almost impossible for someone to get a loan for what you would want. The only way is if they have the cash already or have a house to morgage.

Enes, the one I picked up will hopefully be running this weekend. This is my black talon. The 92 laser SHOULD be limited to exhaust, k&n, and maybe a MBC. I could also throw on some 550's, 2g MAS, and all the other shit but I want a reliable car. I am hoping I can stay away from modding it. I just want a cheap AWD dsm for the winter. Hopefully I found it. I want to part it but my friends and everyone want me to get it running again.

The only thing that is making me think about fixing it is that in the two years I have owned the car, I have not ever been able to enjoy it. Everything breaks. Literally, I have replaced everything besides the block which had 155 across the board. The car only made ~1500 miles on the road this year needing a new alternator, HG, valve seals, clutch (only 1yr old), tranny, etc. The only bit of enjoyment I had was a couple of AWD powerslides spinning the rears.

Financially, I would say part it out. There have already been people asking about many of the parts on it, I would't think you would have to wait long. The only other logical option would be the budget engine swap.

If it's not running, part it out.
