cannot seem to get my Tachometer to work. Everyother guage works!! We just got the engine in and running.. so it could be ne of the causes.. im looking to find the causes. And yes, the ground is connected to the intake manifold!

-the car is a 90 laser RST ( as you likely guessed) FWD turbo. EGr removed if that helps ne thing. 100% stock.

On the intake manifold stay (big bracket that bolts the head to the block on the back of the intake mani) is a little connector attached along with the knock sensor. That needs to be there and connected. I am not sure if that is what you are calling the "ground." It is a little connector. I posted a pic on here a while ago.

your talking about the engine side of the intake manifold? I have a little ground cable going from the fire wall to the intake manifold on the side facing the fire wall. What is the little connector thingy that is attatched to the EGR support on the back side of the block ?

No idea what it is for but I know you need it. There is a pic in the link I posted. It attaches to the stay with the knock sensor and the other EGR shit. If that is connected, check hte tach imput.

its not connected. It is still on the bracket i removed. However, it doesnt lead to anything so i figured it was useless lol ( like the rest of the EGR shit). Do i just take it off the bracket and connect it to the lose wire and it doesnt lead to ne thing?

All I did was take it off the bracket and screw it into the firewall. It just has to be grounded to work. Anywhere should be fine. That should fix your problem.
