So here is the story. Every so often i meet more people from dsmstyle, mnsc and other forums i am on, and i bet the first thing comes to mind on everyone i meet is... where is his car?.. this is the long car life story of josh LP. If youre bored, read this.. if not.. just skip it. if i owe you a special thanks of course.. you better read this shizzzle!
my first car was an eclipse. I knew nothing about cars, i just knew i wanted an eclipse cuz they are fast. It just so happens i spent 1750 dollars on a red 1992 eclipse RS. ( 1.8 sohc, manual locks n windows, no cruise, no sunroof, no AC .. i mean it doesnt have it period lol... for those of you that dont know) It was an eclipse and it was a stick so i was floatin with joy. At ne rate, i was like "hmmm this is what a fast car is?" yea ok, my dads GMC truck would toast this. I smashed it once, got a ticket again.. then i learned to learn. lol, i began reading n such.. got aquainted to a car shop n forums.. and the fun began.
I drove that pos for about 6 months. I put a body kit on it.. put some wheels on it.. etc. I soon realized that there are different kinds of eclipses. So i looked into it.. about 4 months into learning.. i came by a FWD turbo laser and i decided i want it so i can learn. 2 months after that i finally bought it for 300 bux. The Tbelt snapped so the head was bad. So the car sat at storm chasers for like 3 months. I finally got around to rippin it out. I began learning what things were n yadaaydaa..
I got my teeth pulled so i parked the eclipse and dropped the insurance cuz my car will run in 1 week ( HAHA its been 3 more months). I thought about parting it out. I asked around and by the time half the car was sold.. i was gonna make 1500 bux and this dude jake rolled around. He told me i was a dumbass for parting it out when it just needs a new motor. He said he would drive up here 2 hours, never having met me.. and put it in. 3 weeks later, his words became true. The motor went in.. but it still doesnt run. He has come back again, and im not sure how far it has come but i have learned a thing or 2.
First thing, trusting people will do you great things if you find the right opportunity. second thing, people like Jason ( c16sniffer) and josh n mike down at QPR will be there for you. I am not knowledgable enough to make my car work on its own. Jason and jake are there 1st hand to help me get the dirty deeds done. The qpr boys have answered hundreds of questions for me ( i was there 6 times and 4days and i made numerous calls). They hooked me up with stupid parts and bolts i didnt have on hand. Trust will get you places. I know this sounds corny as FUCK ( cuz it prolly is unless you been there, done that and know what im saying) But i want to say thank you to jason, mike, josh, and jake for helping this happen. Without all ( and i mean all) of you, i would have no dsm ( even worse, no car! )
My car needs the alternator belt hooked up, cooling lines hooked up, Power steering hooked up, and a check up to make sure everything is fine. I have learned so much in the last 2 weeks i cannot even describe. These people dont know me yet they took me in and helped me through all of this.
I will have a running dsm very soon. And if any of you know where im coming from. I am in a deep stage of gratification. ( also, thanks to all of the Ethugs that helped me with my stupid random questions lol ( matt D, talonTsiguy, peter, dane, shane :) etc. ). This post is about saying thanks, not my life story of my cars lol. I just realized that.
dont bag on me for the stupidness of this post. I warned you from the top.
