90 Turbo Laser [Archive]

Hey guys whats up My name is David and i just bought a 1990 FWD Turbo plymouth Laser. It is very sweet since this is my first DSM. i have a friend that has a 1994 Eclispe that has every option except the turbo. his was the first one that got me interested in them. ill try to post picks later but it has 89000 miles on it and is probably in need of a good tune up. I was just wondering what should I check for before i start upgrades any help would be great

Welcome. Start by doing a compression check and swapping to ngk bpr6es spark plugs. If compression is fine, change oil and perform a tune up on the car (oil, swap air filter to k & n, fuel filter, etc). You will also want to do a boost leak test in the near future to check for vaccum leaks.
