The rust isnt as bad as alot of people are making it out to be, the only spot is behind the bumber support in the rear, and ist barley even surface rust. Not something to worry about at all. :bounce:

Also where the frame joints connect... look at that forum closer. There are pics of one car that has unibody rust where the frame connects to each other. In 5 years those evos are going to be like swiss cheese... well atleast the bumpers that are plastic wont...

This might be a good car for Raptor as weight weduction will not take very much time and yoou dont have to do anything. ;)

Anyone bother to find out the other variables of how these cars will match up in 10 years when they are btoh used.

I think I read somewhere it's like comparing a civic and and an escort when new. Same playing field, but 10 years down the road whos still gonna have a running car?

Aj that is probably one of the best points I haven't thought about... I am planing to sink some money into this thing... I guess I should see if it will still run in 5 years...

i would wait a year or two before you get either. if they pull either of the cars after a year, good luck trying to get parts and trying to sell it at a later date, resale value might be pretty low. i don't think subaru will pull the sti, but mitsu is unpredictable.

I would go with the evo. The sti has some motor problems aka easy to blow up as with all wrx's ( I have heard) they do have rust issues but you could get a anti rust or whatever it is called spray on the underbody and bumper joint to fix that. ( I don't know what it is called but i think it is kinda like a clear coat the prevents rust...) Or you could just keep the car really clean... yeah right!
