Does anyone know the specific size/thread of the nut that threads onto the alternator pin. Did anyone loose this and find it somewhere at their local hardware store. I obviously went to autozone and nothing they had fit it properly..either too big or just a little too tight to where it started compromising the thread. I am stuck in ohio untill i can fix the damn thing...the parts section of the dealership was closed all weekend untill tommorow morning so hopefully they have it, but i was just curious if anyone else has dealt with this and what they did to replace the nut..
thanks, im stuck and i want to go home
Erik.
It is either 6mm by 1.00 pitch ( I believe that is standard. It is not a Fine or coarse thread.) or 8mm by 1.25 pitch. What size soccet fits it? I cannot remember. Spend 10 cents and get both. You may want to get a lock nut or atleast use a good lock washer so it doesn't happen again. It is not a odd size, it is just a common metric nut.
