Yea I agree. Piecing something together is a PITA.

That stage two is probably just the BIG 16g compared to the regular 16g. They just had STAGE 2, to make it seem more cool.

I dont like it when I talk to some people and they say "yeah, he's got a Stage Two turbo upgrade on his car." Especially when they dont know much about cars and they think that Stage Two is a Big Turbo. It'll help if they say like "Stage two uprgade from Extreme Motorsports" or something like that.

StarQuest intercoolers are a worthless DSM mod...no better than stock, just front/center rather than front/side.

It would also help if they stopped playing need for speed underground and actually read up on cars.

If you want bigger but don't want to pay for a nice FMIC, buy a supra SMIC and put it on instead. It worked for my super 20g without and heatsoak issues.

Until you run more than 23psi and blow those sweet plastic endtanks off of the core and spend an hour on a side road outside of Rock Falls trying to crimp the core tabs back over the tanks....

I guess I enjoy making my own stuff. It might take a lil time and be a bit of a hastle in some areas, but it does give me a little more sense of accomplishment and fulfillment in the end.

If you can pick up a 16G that works for $76 and sell the intercooler, I'd do it. If your just talking about th intercooler or 'IC', let it pass by.

Never happened. The IC is rock solid. They are a great upgrade for a dsm. I can take pics to prove it (size wise). I have never heard of the IC blowing the tanks off. Doesn't mean it is not a problem, but I have never heard of it. A supra IC is much better than a starion IC, you will not have a 15 year old pile of shit in the front bumper, they are easier to install, and you do not need to modify the piping much to install it. It is pretty much a direct replacement. Make sure you get the supra elbows though as they are better at handling the high pressure.
As far as the turbo goes, I would just upgrade to a 14b. I wouldn't buy a used turbo off ebay anyhow. You have no idea what shape it is in, if the seals are fried, etc. Peter could sell you his 16g locally.

Seriously, I was riding shotgun in a car that happened in. We honestly thought the motor popped. And the thing was in great condition. I would personally take the next step to decent FMIC, there is a lot to be said about a DSM SMIC with a 14b/16g. Just my .02

And I have heard more than a few other accounts of endtanks blowing off on those before too.
