View Full Version : Window Glass Removal
How do you remove some of the glued pieces of glass in the car? I am talking about the windshield and the rear 1/4 glass. Thanks, John.

Have a shop that does winshields etc do it for you, or someone that has experience. Its not worth the alternative.

BFH! Actually, take all the clips off and trim and work a piece of piano wire or similar through the glue carefully then pull it in a sawing motion around the edge of the window towards the direction you are going. Be extremely careful, the edges can chip and crack pretty easy. The job isn't difficult with the right type of wire and a little patience.

I've found it helps to have a second person to help saw with you on the other side of the glass. Wear gloves, and make sure you don't put much pressure on the glass--it's most likely to crack on the edges. If you're getting glass from the junkyard, they often have glass cutting wire available to use.
