Lead contaminates the sensor. It won't kill it immediately, but seriously reduce the life.

i will stop by the place today and see what it says on there.. but i heard its either 100LL or 110LL @ $1.90 /gal
my o2 sensor already has 85k miles on it and about 20 galons of 110leaded gas thru it..

i will take it out and see the condition of it maybe even get a new one..

i wouldn't, here's why:

----------
"The local airfield sells 100 octane low lead av gas for $2.61/gal.
Since 91 runs $2.40/gal. around here I have considered switching over.
Thanks."
----------
"100ll does still contain LOTS of lead. I ran it with a 50/50 mix once.
It's not as much as the spark plugs you have to worry about as the valve guides. Avgas does not contain the top lube packages that mogas does.
It's safe to run when diluded with mogas or some sort of top lube, but running it straight wont help the valve guides any. Another side effect of avgas is that TEL is extremely corrosive, and will eat your cylinder walls right now when the motor is not running."
----------
"Not only would I expect that "low lead" to kill your O2, but I also expect it to fowl your plugs. The industry joke about aviation "LL"
fuel is that it stands for lots of lead. It is lower then what they used to have, but it is a huge amount still as the engines for the most part were designed in the 30's and require it.
Anyone else run aviation fuel?
I know my buddies that fly with non-aviation based engines (ie modern combustion chambers) have to carry spare spark plugs when they are forced to fill up with 100LL."

avgas and jet fuel are two different things. it still contains a good amount of TEL in it. My friend runs it in his classic v8 all the time.

Yep, av gas still has way more lead in it than even leaded race gas. I wondered about it back when I was a pilot and I checked into it. It wasn't worth it.

3 gallons of toluene with 7 gallons of 92 would get you 98.4 octane. Not bad to go play with on the weekend and it is unleaded.
