System W/ Stock Radio

I have a stock radio and I want to install the system from my other car. I do have a deck too but I would like to keep the stock radio so I can leave the top down and not worry about it. So how can I wire up some preouts to the stock deck? I have heard of the line converter. If thats what I need then where can I pick one up at? I also heard that it sounds like shit anybody know if thats true or not. And how do you install it?

You can get a line converter most anywhere. They don't sound like shit, but definately not as good as a real preamp. If you have the upgraded system in the 2g, you probably already have a separate amp and you could steal the preamp output to that.

If you do use the converter, don't crank the volume all the way and be sure to set the gain on it correctly, don't crank it up.
