So...ya all know how my stupid conquest doesn't work still. I kept insurance on it though, figuring it would work next week...or next week...or...get the drift? So in the mean time, i've been driving my other car.

I never switched insurance over.

Then i got pulled over tonight by lakeville cops :fworld:

Ok, so pay attention to this all: He pulled me over for a noise/muffler violation (i dont have one, hole in manifold too). This is a valid reason, i give him that much. He also cited me for not wearing a seatbelt, because i took it off when he pulled me over so i could get to my wallet. This same bullshit happened to Brian, right? Anyway, i HAD IT ON before hand :headache:

I already said the main problem: No insurance on my car. What can happen to me? I'm positive i'm going to get heavy fines and lose my license for a period of time...please tell me i'm wrong =\.

What can i do to lessen any of these? Is there anyway to avoid losing my license, and can i argue any of those citations (mainly seatbelt)? Also, could i get my permit/license in a motorcycle and ride that or do I NEED a driver's license to ride a motorcycle also?

And yes, i know...i'm a fucking moron.

Usually if you plead guilty to the no insurance, they will drop any other minor violations you got with it.IIRC first offense no insurance is a $200 fine and 30 day revocation(not suspension)

I hate people that drive without insurance. IMO it is a hard thing to forget about. I wouldn't get mad if they didn't use the lube on you.

Hence me saying i know i'm dumb for doing that, HOWEVER I got the parts for the quest to work 2 weeks after it was down. What the fuck was i supposed to do? Swap insurance right after it didn't work? Plus i have to have my DAD change it, as being 18 and having your own name on the policy is financial idiocy. What would you have done in this situation?

Oh, and thanks for the info Lightning.

DISCLAIMER

I'm just a little pissed at myself and the circumstances, don't mind my ranting. You all have your opinions, but i have a tendency to get very defensive about anything.

STFU. He was asking for help and opinions... why even bother posting that.

Tom, I would just do as Lightning said... plead guilty so they're easier on you. It wouldn't be worth the trouble to try and fight it.

Well I hope lightening is right about the no insurance.

When I got one cause I couldn't find my insurance card. They said it was $1000 and month suspension of license.

But I'm sure it's all based off record. Honestly try to get the insurance thing dropped out of all those tickets. cause it's the worste one.

Seat belt and Muffler violation is nothing. But the No insurance is big time.

OK, pretty sure no insurance is $280.

Try this, it has worked for me in the past when I made a similar dumb mistake. I called my insurance company, told them to put insurance on the car going back to a couple days before the incident. They were happy to have me pay for days in the past. :bounce: I then had the insurance fax me the document showing that my car was covered at the time of the incident, it was dropped.

when you buy a new car you have i believe 30 days to tell your insurance company, and they backdate your insurance to the date of purchase. this may apply to adding insurance to a vehicle as well. call them and tell them you switched cars 2 weeks ago and need to have your coverage updated, and a copy sent to you

chances are, even if you called right now and said put coverage on it, they would send you an insurance card for August 1st 2004 through Feb 1st 2004 or whatever, and you'd be fine

Thats what I had them do, back date the insurance.

Worked for me
