Auto Gsx Doesn't Shift Right

Ok i need some advice my g/fs gsx engine blew she rebuilt the whole motor but not it won't shift right, How many ppl think the tranny (auto) needs rebuilt.... I Say YES but she insist it doesn't. Leave me some, so i can show her. thanks

What do you mean it won't shift right?

It like literally stumbles when its driving and when we stop at a red light it takes so long for us to get up in a higher speed, like u can hear the turbo spool really bad but it doesn't seem like anything is happening

Either your end clutch is on its way out or the torque converted is on it way out.

You have no problem. That is just how the Auto's are. I test drove a 97 GS-T spyder. You get on it and it goes no where. A manual has a lot more kick in it. My old integra felt faster than the Auto eclipse. ;)

Thats not true, yeah they are going to be doggy from the start when you just punch the gas but once the turbo spools there isn't too much difference. The shifting stiffness isn't there but the car shouldn't lack the power. You are going to experience some drivetrain loss from the auto tranny but its not going to be significant enough to make you feel like its N/A or something.

What he is describing is common with 2G autos, they are really hard on end clutchs and torque converters. The reason being is they are extremely heat sensitive and if they reach over 200 degrees too often stuff wears out fast. The only way to cure it is with a aftermarket tranny cooler and maybe some good fluid.

Definatly an end clutch kit is needed or a new TC. If your in there look into a shift kit as well.

Well thats even worse, they have weaker auto trannies that the 2Gs do. But still the same problems but they wear out even faster.

But you have one thing in your favor, they are cheaper to upgrade and fix.
